| Hurghada was once a sleepy fishing village but has now become one of the most popular destinations on the Red Sea. The town has a truly cosmopolitan feel and has a great mix of old and new. Hurghada offers first class scuba diving for either beginners or experienced divers and is said to have some of the best dive sites in the world. Kitesurfing is also very popular with a beach designated for surfers and a great school for beginners, keen enthisiats come to Hurghada purely for its excellent kitesurfing location. Locally there is quad biking, dune buggys and dune driving for a great day out away from the beach. If you wish to visit the historical sites of Egypt, Cairo and Luxor are accessible either by air or road from Hurghada for one day visits or more. The local ferry service also connects to the Sinai Peninsula. |
